I'm sitting in class realizing that I need to seek out knowledge from outside sources to gain a better understanding of how it is used in business.
I came across an article from the Harvard Business Review. The article i found is on page 322, or chapter 50. It goes over the tactics that can be used in businesses to manage the knowledge they are obtaining from their employees.
The first one is Codification Knowledge Management. This is refered as a "person-to-document" strategy. It is used to compile and Reuse information. Many times this is refered as explicit knowlege.
The second one is Personalization Knowledge Management. This is refered as a "person-to-person" strategy. It is used where people teach other people and no "documentation" is used. This is refered to as tactic knowlege management.
