Knowledge is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as (i) expertise, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject, (ii) what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information or (iii) awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.
Wisdom is knowledge, understanding, experience, discretion, and intuitive understanding, along with a capacity to apply these qualities well towards finding solutions to problems.
So, Knowledge is what you learn and wisdom is how you use that knowledge.
The knowledge that is imparted at fine universities and institutions of education gives that person, people information that they can use in the real world.
The Wisdom to use that knowledge to obtain a job, get grants to fund projects and other productive objectives is something a professor, teacher cannot specifically teach their student.
Wisdom and knowledge are tied together and can be used together to create even bigger things. People receive recognition like the Nobel Peace Prize because they used their knowledge of something to do great and important things.
